RESEARCH FACILITIES
REGUA provides two types of accommodation for researchers and students of university or professional disciplines and courses.
Research and student accommodation at the Conservation Centre:
There are five houses with a total of 35 beds available and six bathrooms with showers.
Hot and cold shower; ceiling or mobile fan; and single bed or bunk bed. There is a daily rate, the price varies according to the facilities required, the type of course and number of users, as well as the number and type of meals required.
Casa da Pesquisa, which is approximately six kilometers from the Visitors Center, at the beginning of the Green Trail provides Research accommodation within the forest. The house has capacity for 15 people and is equipped with:
3 bedrooms with bunk beds; kitchen (stove/fridge/ kitchenware and bottled gas); a bathroom with hot/cold shower and a toilet; there is also a veranda with a desk and benches. The use of this house requires the payment of a contribution to cover gas and cleaning costs. The students in this accommodation are responsible for maintaining themselves and providing all their own food and drinks etc. Casa de Pesquisa is often used by those who prefer to be closer to the main trails where research will be conducted, by those who prefer to cook and/or have complete autonomy during their stay at REGUA.

It is possible to stay overnight at Casa da Pesquisa and pay separately for meals at the Conservation Centre (in addition to the daily rate) Transport to and from Casa de Pesquisa will be the students responsibility. There are shops in the two local villages where supplies can be purchased.
REGUA provides a well-equipped infrastructure. It has an air-conditioned classroom/auditorium for up to 50 people seated, an air-conditioned field laboratory equipped with a half-moon work bench, electricity, a freezer and shelves for storing equipment. The laboratory and the auditorium are available for researchers working at REGUA and also for courses and events held here. Please let us know exactly what you will require when making your booking.

Meals are served in two cafeteria areas, one of them in a climate-controlled room and the other located outdoors and under cover, allowing meals to be held outdoors if preferred and being a safe option for times that require social distancing. Visitors have access to accessible restrooms and a drinking fountain.
Behind the offices, is a car park with capacity for around 10 cars.
